Our team are independent and impartial, with significant experience within the NZ energy industry  – including retail, generation, distribution, metering and energy specific IT project management, analytical and consulting services.

We provide clients with friendly and professional services and maintain good working relationships throughout the industry.

David Kemshall - Director

David provides clients with the commercial and technical expertise to deliver their energy requirements.  David has a keen interest in procurement,  the demand-side, ancillary markets and transmission aspects.

David has worked in the energy industry for over 10 years, including commercial roles for Vector and Genesis Energy prior to establishing Brightspark.  David has a Masters in Engineering Management (MEM) and a Bachelor of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Honours).

Lesley Walmsley - Director

Lesley has significant experience in project related analytical, advisory and management roles throughout the electricity retail, generation, distribution and metering sectors of the energy industry.  Lesley has a strong background and interest in the NZ electricity market, including modelling and analysis.

Lesley has worked in the energy industry for over 12 years, including roles with industry consultants, Genesis Energy and Mighty River Power, prior to establishing Brightspark. Lesley has a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Honours).

Joel Davey - Consultant

Joel is involved with client energy cost management and energy usage analysis .  Joel has been in the energy industry for the past 4 years working for Vector, and during university he also held roles with Carter Holt Harvey (energy monitoring) and BECA.   Joel has a Bachelor of Engineering/Science (Honours).

Our Fees

Depending on which of our services you require, our consulting fees are typically either: fixed price service contracts (quoted), or on a consulting rate basis (time and materials).
